27 SOUTH AFRICA’S LEADING FARMERS IN ZAMBIA FOR TALKS WITH GOVERNMENT

TWENTY-SEVEN South African leading commercial farmers were in Zambia where they met high level Government representation as part of their prospecting for investment opportunities in the country’s agricultural sector.

The group held a meeting with Agriculture Minister, Mr. Given Lubinda, which was also attended by technocrats from the Ministry of Lands; Ministry of Agriculture; Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry; the Zambia Development Agency and the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit.

The 27 were among invited guests to this year’s Africa Freedom Day celebrations at State House at which they met President Edgar Lungu.

The farmers who arrived in Zambia on Tuesday, 24th May, 2016 say they chose to invest in Zambia because of its favourable investment climate and the confidence that they had in the leadership of President Lungu.
They were received at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport by Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba.
The group went into a briefing meeting with the Zambia National Farmers Union (ZNFU) upon arrival.farmer10farmer14 farmer1 farmer4 farmer6 farmer12 farmer11  farmer8 farmer13 IMG-20160526-WA0018
