CAPITAL EQUIPMENT HUB TO BE SET UP ON THE COPPERBELT

A high-powered business delegation from the Gauteng Provincial Government in South Africa is scheduled to undertake a three day economic mission to Zambia with the aim of holding consultative engagement with various Zambian private and public agencies.

Mr Mwamba stated that the Economic Mission has come shortly after the State Visit to Zambia by President Jacob Zuma.

Gauteng Province Member of Executive Council for Economic, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development Lebogang Maile is expected to lead the delegation.

Mr. Maile has disclosed that his delegation would hold consultative talks with the Lusaka City Council regarding the possibility of twinning the two Cities as they had a lot in Common.

He added that the delegation was further expected to hold talks with Ndola and Kitwe City Councils respectively for possibilities of establishing business hubs for Regional Value Chain for Mining Capital Equipment.

Mr. Maile said Zambia was a key country in deepening regional economic ties as she was one of the fastest growing economies in the SADC region adding that was need to promote government to government collaborations.

He said his visit to Zambia together with his entourage would promote strategic partnerships and secure bilateral relationship with Zambian private and public entities.

Mr. Mwamba says the visit was the fruition of President Jacob Zuma’s State Visit to Zambia recently.

He said Zambia the intentions by the Gauteng Provincial Government to set up Capital Equipment hubs in Zambia was a huge investment that the country stands to benefit.
