PRESIDENT Lungu on Friday, 9th December, 2016 visited the Kusile Power Station Project in South Africa’s Mpumalanga Province as part of his quest to find solutions to the energy deficit that Zambia and other countries in the region were facing.
The President declared soon after visiting the project which is being constructed by Eskom, that there were a lot of lessons which Zambia learnt through the visit.
He said government will send a team of technocrats from the ZESCO and the Ministry of Energy to meet with Eskom and consider what could be done.
The President was accompanied by Presidential Affairs Minister Mr. Freedom Sikazwe, Minister of Energy Honourable David Mabumba, Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Mr. Emmanuel Mwamba, Deputy Secretary to Cabinet Mr. Christopher Mvunga, Special Assistants to the President for Press & Public Relations, for Economic Development, Lagal Affairs, and for Political Affairs Mr. Amos Chanda, Mr. Hibene Mwiinga, Mr. Sukwana Lukangaba and Mr. Kaizar Zulu.
