SPEAKER COUNSELS MPS ON DEVELOPMENT DEBATE

Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini says Youths are an integral part of African development agenda.
Dr. Matibini says African countries should ensure that youths are brought into the mainstream of the socio -economic development plans.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the Annual Conference of Speakers of Parliament and meeting of the Pan-African Secretaries -General Association held in Midrand , South Africa.

Dr. Matibini said African countries need to emphasis the importance of Youths in political and socio-economic planning as they constitute a large sector of the African population.

He has since called on Zambian Parliamentarians to factor social, political and economic issues as they debate matters of national development in consideration of demographic dividends.
Dr. Matibini added that youths were an important demographic that could not be in the context of national development.
He further observed that the Annual Conference of Speakers of Parliaments provided a platform that consolidated democratic governance and promotion of socio-economic development affecting the African continent.
