ZAMBIA HIGH COMMISSIONER BADE FAREWELL TO ZAMBIAN COMMUNITY

Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Mr Emmanuel Mwamba has bade farewell to the Zambian community living in South Africa.

Mr Mwamba bade farewell at the colourful event held at the Zambian Chancery in Pretoria organised by the Zambia Association in South Africa (ZASA).

This follows his transfer to the Federal Republic of Ethiopia as Zambia Ambassador to that Country.

The farewell Event was attended by over 300 Zambians from across South Africa including Board Members of the Zambia, South Africa Business Forum led by board chairperson Dr Chiara Chiumya.

Before delivering his farewell speech Mr Mwamba together with his spouse Mrs. Monde Mwamba were blessed for their new assignment by the Clergy led by Pastor Gideon Kapafu of Bread of Life Church in Midrand Johannesburg.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the Zambian Community pastor Kapafu described Mr Mwamba as humble and welcoming.

He mentioned that Mr Mwamba maintained an open door policy
And effectively championed the interest of Zambians and Zambia as a country.

And in delivering his farewell speech Mr Mwamba thanked President Edgar Lungu for offering him an opportunity to serve Zambia as ambassador.
Mr Mwamba encouraged Zambians to be patriotic and speak positively about their own country.

He mentioned that their was a lot of positive stories about Zambia that needed to be marketed to the outside world.

He said their was need to increase tourists arrivals in the country owing to abundant wild life, heritage sites and natural resources.

Mr Mwamba thanked the Zambian Community for its unity and commitment for helping the Mission to promote the welfare of Zambians.

Mr Mwamba is expected to leave for Ethiopia this monthend.
