A Zambian Fashion Designer has been Appointed as Southern Africa Fashion Coordinator by the African Fashion Reception legendary Gold of Nigeria.
Speaking at the Africa Month Celebration Fashion Experience pop up in Johannesburg South Africa Chisoma Lombe who is the president of creative Designs says she feels proud to take up that position as it will expose more of Zambian couture.
And Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa ,His Excellency Mr.Emmanuel Mwamba congratulated Ms lombe for her achievement.
He said government recognized the value of arts and culture and included it at ministry level.
And Ms lombe said her role would be to mobilize and promote African and local designers to expose them to participate in advanced fashion shows ,adding that it will help them display African dress cultures.
she says Zambia will benefit immensely, as upcoming designers will be given a chance to show case their product on the international market which in return will add value to Zambian’s Economy.
Ms Lombe who was also taking part in the fashion show run way displayed Zambian native designs and dress.
she says Zambia was among the nine African Countries which took part in the prestigious event adding that it was a good platform and exposure to exchange ideas.
she called on government to invest and support the local designers
